Hello to all of you cool cats and downright stunning ladies out there in SG land.

There are twelve cd's that are waiting to be ripped to iTunes on my desk right now. Should I let you in on what they are? Well a few of them ok?

1. The Roots of Rock n Roll 1946-1954
-This one contains such classics as:
Big Momma Thornton doing the ORIGINAL Hound Dog....yes Elvis didn't do that one first either.
Ruth Brown with Teardrops From My Eyes
Hank Ballard and the Midnighters crying out Work With Me Annie
So many more that are truly great songs

2. Night Train To Nashville..Music City Rhythm & Blues 1945-1970
- Several songs that I have heard, but never together.
Good cut of Ruth Browns "He Treats Your Daughter Mean", but the Nashville cut. Different from the more widely played version that got me hooked on Ruth Brown.
Etta James with "What'd Say"
Again so many more.

This older music is teaching me some basics and I really do enjoy it. Customer even asked me the other day what I was listening too. They enjoyed it. So turning people on to new GOOD music that isn't heard much is a treat for me. Listened to Dwight Yoakams Acoustic the other night in the garage. It is just him and a acoustic guitar doing several of his songs. That is about the newest country sound that I really enjoy.

Also have ran out of room for cd's again. Bought a shelf thingy the other month and it is full already. Don't have a lot of room for one of those huge things that sit on the floor and rises six feet. Guess I will look into more options. The mantle is full of them as well a lot of my desk. More on the way also.

Picked up a book from a customer that his father wrote. It is about Baltimore's music from 1950-1980. This guy really did a great job in researching all this stuff. Since my Uncle and his brother had vinyl shops all over Baltimore starting in the mid 60's, thought it would be cool to talk to this guy. Maybe he can tell me more about my Uncle and stuff. If any of you guys want to know more about this book just let me know.

Next weekend my company will be having a event at Hershey Park. They do this every year and it is fun. Go to breakfast and a few work things then off to the park for the rest of the day. I should find a date to bring to make it more fun. We will see about that. Still have a week.

A lot tonight huh?

Lay your head down and rest your eyes,
When you wake and the sun shines,
Be thankful that your eyes are open,
Remember if you wanted to wreck me,
You should have started sooner

If you come put my futon together, bring those CDs, ok ?

Ugh...date was....unbearably boring! It would have been more fun driving drill bits through my ear drums than listening to this guy drone on about his heating and cooling system that he and his dad just installed in his basement apartment. What is WRONG with people? Don't they know this is the kind of detail one saves for a five year relationship? Certainly NOT a first date.... whatever This dating, thing, my dear, BLOWS! lol....
