Some stuff for me to think about....feel free to add your thoughts. I really like my job. BUT and there is a BUT:
1. I would have to leave my current boss...who I really enjoy working for. He is fair and progressive. Willing to accept change. Pretty much lets me do what I want as long as the job gets done well. Very personable...get to talk to a lot of different people. I really love that aspect of the job. Here is the good...not great stuff. The pay is good, but there really isn't a high ceiling to hit. I am very close to hitting the top. I am pretty much within a few years of making max pay and looking forward to cost of living raises. Have a company car. Cell phone. Health is limited and not that great. 401K is not much of anything. BUT I really, really love my job and could do it well for the rest of my days.
2. The new job. Working for corporate. Total and complete benefits. Including new car every two years...and they don't specify which one. Cell phone, complete health, hard core 401K and stock options. I wouldn't have to work as many hours when I get settled. Would have to go back to college for a few years, but it would be paid for in full. Not only that but my salary would not be affected while I am in school. A lot more responsibility. Would be covering a larger area. Have a huge ceiling. When this company puts money and time in you they don't want to loose you. They have already put time and money in me. Oh yeah...the $$$$ <---Bling Bling....would be a lot more....not three percent...almost double what I am doing now. It is a less personal than what I am doing now.
Should know in the next few weeks if I will be considered or not. IF I am it will be the toughest decision in my life. That is what I said about the last move a few years ago.
You guys can give me some things I should be thinking about. Well PLEASE give me some suggestions.
Life will take you all over....it has me.
