So what were you up to this past weekend?
That is the question Ive been asked a few times today and yesterday. Here is the breakdown.
Thursday (Yes Thursday counts as the weekend now): Worked all day and saw Southern Culture on the Skids.
Friday: Worked all day. Then saw The Tossers and Stiff Little Fingers. If you havent you must see those bands live. Those that were joining me/drove my drunk ass home, know. Had a few beers on me and in me by the time I walked out.
Saturday: Woke up at seven a.m. to watch a ballroom dancing competition. Interesting, but dont worry I wont be starting that hobby anytime soon. Got home, got the 65 ready for a cruise in that night. A fun time as always.
Sunday: Awoke at eight a.m. to drive just north of Gettysburg Pennsylvania for another car show. Got to first car show at ten or so, shot two rolls of b&w and left for next one. Attended the Kustom Kemps Lead Sled show. If you are into 50s and 60s lead sleds, this is the place to be. Got there a little late, but still was able to shoot a roll. Got home at five p.m. and was really tired. mallenfoto called me up and asked me to go to the Eels show that night. Had half an hour to get ready and leave. Eels were great and I forgot a lot about them until they started playing. You never know what you will here with the Eels. That night they did most of their songs very heavy, lots of distortion and dressed in black for the most part. We stuck around for a few minutes afterwards to get some water and they came back out after the show had been over for fifteen minutes. Played a few more songs and we left. Went outside and talked to the band for a few minutes. Got home at 2:30 a.m. and didnt sleep until three. Work was in just four hours. thank you mallenfoto for the phone call......it was all worth it.
Not bad, five total bands in four days and three car shows in two days. You ask what was the best time overall? It was a busy weekend and I am crashing at midnight instead of one tonight. Hopefully this coming weekend will be a chill weekend. Maybe catch a movie or something.
