I hate christmas. I'll say it. I hate the holidays in general. When thanksgiving starts, and then on. It just sucks. I look forward to Feb 15 like I look forward to sex. And let me tell you. If I know sex is coming, I look forward to it a lot. Well either way, once Valentines day is over with I can be happy again.
But, on the bright side it makes everyone so happy. Which is nice. It puts (most) people into a really good mood, and I can appreciate that. People being happy is good.
Being forced to spend time with your family? Bad. Very bad.
But, with the help of vodka and eggnog I made it through it. God bless flasks, and god bless using wine for cooking. One for the mussels, two for the cook.
And I love my mom,she always tries so hard, but I swear to god, she is one of the worst gift givers I have ever met (for me atleast, she does a great job on other people). She always tries to buy me clothes she would like me to wear..which is very different from what I would ever wear. Not that I'm complaining about shitty gifts, I love her and it's always fun seeing what she gets me each holiday season.
This time? She ended up getting me a pair of business slacks. Honesty? Me? In plain, black, business slacks? And really expensive ones? I don't know what she thinks sometimes.
The other, even better one? She bought me a Tommy Bahama's shirt. With flowers on it. You've got to be kidding me. She even said "Now I don't know about some of these shirts..." and I couldn't not mention it to her, it was too funny. I feel like a horrible person, but every year it's the same thing, and it's funny. But she puts in a lot of time and effort to it so I always appreciate the gifts. She really tries. I always try to make he vague christmas lists so it can be easy for her..cooking equipment..certain cd's or movies or genres of things I would like. Ah well, she's great. I love her, and her weird gift giving. She did get me a 1 good pair of pants which I like a lot, and a nice pink shirt (that is about 15 sizes to large for me, but she can fix that) so atleast I have some new clothes. I only had 2 pairs of pants I could wear outside of work, so now I have 3. That's enough to not do laundry every week..(or just wear dirty pants like I usually do)
