LOVELY time. beautiful weather. gorgeous drive. amsterdam cafe. black hash. Hyatt Regency. hooker hotel. walking and walking and walking. Death by Chocolate. smashed finger and lost nail. fishies. shopping. FUN on a BUN.

i bought a new comic by garth ennis called "the pro." it's about a prostitute imbued with super powers. wink

so, this coming weekend Ziusudra and I are going to BC. I've never been, nor has he, and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what to do, where to go, etc. the new ink is MY PICS section for the interested parties.

Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver is neat, as is Granville island - these are vancouver's version of Pikes Market. Central Vancouver, or downtown is neat, lots of new tall buildings, but it's pretty yuppie. there are some "alternative" areas somewhere in the southeast, but i have never been there.
Kitsilano beach has a popular mainstreet area, i forget what the street(s) are, lots of cafes, bars etc.
Yaletown is like the pearl district in Portland, gentrified former industrial area.
Punjabi market is the South Asian district around Main St and E49th, in south east vancouver.
china town isn't much to talk about

...and after i recited your last "i love you's"

i let out a final sigh

all emotions- released

let out

gone...

all this time i've thought of you all,

looking the way you did

with your local talk

your local whores

all wrapped up in your conscience blankets in your 1/2 drunk world...

did you ever remember me?

or was i so totally erased, so...

Beautiful. That sounded like it must have felt really good to get written out. The new ink looks sweet by the way.

so, I was at a certain elections office today observing the signature checking process on initiative petitions. (it's legal for any citizen to go in and observe, but soooo boring that I'd recommend sticking a pencil in your eye instead.)
anyway, so the organization that I work for wants us there, and my tattoo is all flaky, and some old bag that works there starts...

sorry the picture isn't up here yet of the new ink; the last few days have been completely overwhelming. work is so exhausting. i'll try and have it up tonight.
i'd like to take this moment and squeal like a little girl-EEEEEEE!!
ALICE POSTED IN MY JOURNAL!!!
i know, i'm such a butthead-nerd. biggrin
bean:
thanks. I'm sure we'll both enjoy our freedom. but it doesn't come without caveats as well. despite my silly outgoing nature around here, i'm really shy in the real world, and i'll be forced to meet people and be social again...should be interesting.

post the new ink! i want to see! biggrin
gekkeiju23:
pics are posted!

new ink tomorrow! i'm quite excited since it's been over 2 years since i've had fresh work. the artist, anji, used to work in Sacramento but disappeared one day. i've since come to Tacoma and discovered that she now works at the Laughing Buddha in Seattle. i recommend her HIGHLY. biggrin

i noticed for the first time ever that i have this long, jagged scar down the left side of my face. it's very faint, only noticeable in the right light. it's neat; sort-of mysterious. i'll have to find out where it came from. scars are neat. does anyone out there have a swell scar they'd like to share? smile

yeah.. the trick is to get them to think that all of this wacked-out behavior is somehow "charming," "endearing," or possibly "off-beat" but in a good way.

pfft. boys. fuck em.

oooh, love in the time of cholera is one of my favorite books too. sooo romantic. sigh.
