hello all.
i sliced my finger to the bone with a large serated bread knife today, bled like a stuck pig, passed out, and got sent home.
i don't think stitches are to be needed, but time will tell.
my boss was super-he bought me tons of bandages, told me that if i had to buy any additional bandages to bring him the receipt, and to write down my full 8 hours on my time card.
i think he was avoiding a workers comp claim, but it was still nice.
aside from little nicks and cuts i have NEVER had any kind of workplace injury; i'm usually very careful-it was a fluke. he certainly didn't force me to use that knife.
i once had a boss that was such a bastard-he wouldn't pay out on ANY worker's comp, would blame you if you injured yourself, wouldn't allow you go to the doctor, and if you cut yourself would not only NOT hand you a towel, but would berate you for getting blood on his floor.
while working for this man i was diagnosed with vertigo, so awful that i couldn't see, had no depth perception and no balance. it was dangerous for me to walk even a short distance. regardless, he told me i had to be at work or risk getting replaced. so i came in and promptly fell, shattering some plates and hitting my head. he suddenly had an epiphany- perhaps i shouldn't be on my feet! amazingly astute, that guy.
awww-good times.

sliced to the bone = stiches, or gane green which ever you prefer.
