I am still in the depths of corporate packaging design purgatory but the end is in sight. I have what could be a creatively rewarding project in the pipeline for mid March.
this semi-juicy project has its problems, however, and it forces the question that many designers have to ask themselves.
If I do my job and the client makes more money, I am supporting something I don't morally agree with
in this case, one of the products I will design packaging for is honey. now I still eat honey even though I identify myself as vegan. I am just not emotionally moved to remove it from my diet. But what if once the project kicks off I discover that there is also bacon? Or a meat sauce? What if UPS is a future client?
I am hopeful that more groups like egg will pop up and flourish so like-minded designers have somewhere they use their craft with a clear conscience
