BUSY!!! I haven't even had time for myself in the past two weeks until last night! Great news, though....... I maybe trying to compete in a creative grooming competition in the fall of 2011!!!!!!!!! That means I have to get a poodle, though.... much better than ''renting'' one at the last minute, but they're so damn froofy. However, through my recent research, personality wise, they actually seem like they'd be perfect for me. Plus, even though puppy fur is very soft, i can just give it a little Mr. T mohawk, pom poms on the legs and the tip of the tail, and keep it shaved otherwise. Lol.
But I got to groom several breeds of dogs the past few weeks, which all turned out good, the Shetland Sheepdog was the best, though, I groomed her yesterday. Awesome! I'm so excited to FINALLY be on my career path!!!!! I want to take some online classes and get several certifications at some point, but I'm actually doing full grooms on my own, and they're turning out great! My boss told me on Tuesday that in the next month or two she's going to take a day off and I"m going to be flying solo at work!!!!!!!!! ME!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!! It's exciting, but at the same time it makes me a little nervous... simply because it seems like it's all of a sudden. I haven't done that many grooms, so I don't really notice the progression that much, but my boss keeps telling me how amazed she is at how quickly I'm picking up everything and how quickly I'm improving with each groom. That makes me feel really good.
I've started to feel like my old self the past week or so... mostly when I'm at work, but the past few days when I'm at home too. Things seem to be on the up and up, which makes me VERY happy.
I did a painting last night... for me, it's mediocre at best, but it's not done... so we'll see. I guess it's not too bad for being the first painting I've actually worked on in over a year. Yes, I started doodling again, that's my strong point, but painting is different.
Oh, and the owner of the pet resort is letting me pick out all the hair dye colors I want!!! I feel important! I also couldn't resist asking if she knew anyone with a white pitbull or boxer ( the coat type, short and tight)... she said she could probably get a hold of one for me... she asked why, I told her I wanted to put offendingly bright zebra print and cheetah print on it... she said she'd see what she can come up with. FUCKING SWEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was actually kind of enjoying the warm weather the past week, it was a pleasant change, and it was SOOOOOOOOO refreshing just to sit outside and smell the air and feel the breeze on my skin. Plus, one of my favoritest things in the whole wide world... spring peepers... you know, the little frogs... they make me happy, and nostalgic, but mainly happy.
It was actually snowing this afternoon. Seriously. I turned the heat back on in the apartment and spent the evening with hot coffee while snuggled under a comforter whislt watching tv. So, lazy evening, but hey, I've been working my ass off, I deserve it. Lol.
Well, I'm off to put blue back in my hair before I'm ''too old'' to rock it. I'm just putting it over my natural color so that it's a little more subtle for work. Shrug.
