So yesteday's Solstice parade was pretty cool as always. Looked like it was going to be a gray, overcast day and then the sun came out pretty much as the parade started! Ended up being a great summer day. Blyss and the other "Botanical Babes" were in it--bedecked with flowers on themselves and their bikes--very cool as always!
Was discussing the parade with several friends and we all agreed that this year's parade lacked the political commentary of past years.
The big broo-ha-ha with this year's parade was over denying the participation of a piercing performance group, PURE to participate as planned (Pirate ship with participants pulling it by their piercings). I don't know why everyone freaked, the Fremont Solstice parade has always been about artistic expression and for the most part, anything goes. It is always amazing to watch the reaction of those who come in from the 'burbs for the parade--lol--I guess it must be mind expanding for them (hopefully it is, hence my lament about the lack of political commentary.)
The Fair was crowded but groovy. Good food, great music, some wild art cars (actually quite a few), lots of swag, and a great Seattle summer day! Kara, was looking for you but did not see you in the crowds--hope you had a good time.
May head down to the Fair again this morning for a bloody mary. Need to get the day off to the right start . . . I do like living in Fremont
, it's cool to be able to walk everywhere and not hassle with driving and parking, etc. 
And besides, it is the "Center of the Universe"!
