What did you do? Thanus panted. He collapsed against a tree the sword clattering uselessly from his hand.
It doesnt matter, Alabaster croaked. It worked.
No. What did you do? Thanus said as he tried to straighten himself. Because whatever you did almost got us killed.
What? Alabaster exclaimed looking up at Thanus.
You heard me. Whatever it was that you did almost got us killed.
Alabaster lay prone on the leaf-covered floor for the forest for several moments before he answered. Help me up.

You heard me, now do as I say, and help me up.
Thanus struggled to his feet obeying the order without question. He stooped to help Alabaster to his feet the larger mans weight nearing bearing him to the ground.
My sword. Get my sword.
The sword glittered in the leaf mould and Thanus bent to retrieve it attempting to balance the movement with Alabasters considerable weight. The man was not particularly large, just unwieldy, and the armour and traveling clothes he wore did not aid matters.
