Grim winced as his fingers dug into the edge of the roof and he felt one of the stones begin to give way. His feet flailed wildly below him and he fought to control the motion but his legs, acting of their own accord, decided now was the time for dancing a jig. He strained, pulling himself so he could see up the sloping roof toward the open window.

Shards of glass stood at jagged angles and through the broken frame he could make out the flickering light of the rooms solitary candle. The flame danced crazily as the two figures still in the room struggled. Grim saw the glint of steel, it flashed red in the somber light. The two men, for it was two men, he knew that for a fact, fought, locked hand in hand but Grim could not discern who was who. He desperately wanted to cry out, to ask for aid but he knew the slightest distraction might cost them both their lives. But, actually, he didnt care.
