Five-Minute fiction - 23:45-23:50
There is something to be said for the maddening isolation of interstellar travel. Ive not been gone long. At least it doesnt feel as if it has been very long. That is the problem posed by lightspeed travel. Time begins to change, to take on new forms. But time as the Qulien say is all a matter of perspective, and as one of the last humans in the galaxy I suppose I have a pretty unique perspective on it all.
But I have a feeling Im not presenting things in an accurate way. For example, you probably have no idea who I am. Or even what a human is. But if you know the latter, then I can solve the former. My name is Nathan Thwrist and I am, for all intents and purposes, the last remaining member of humanity. Ive been long gone from Earth, thats humanitys ancestral homeworld for nearly three years now, but that was really three-thousand years ago, subjectively.
