I find them fascinating, but how couldnt you. They are, essentially, living machines. And while I use the term living in reference to sentience rather than actual breathing, eating, pooping, sleeping that it is most commonly associated with, I cant help but be intrigued by them. Add to that the idea that may be able to break their bonds and well rise up against their masters as it were is even more interesting. Aside, of course, from all the killing.

Darker nodded, his head bobbing as he peered into the book. The light around the tower was dim but a small, slender beam spilled out from a cracked blind and it was more than enough for Darker to see by. Grim watched him for several moments, waiting for some kind of verbal response, but none came.

Grim turned back to look out over the City. Its scale was so daunting, and there was so much ground to cover. And though they had a place to start, a relative square one from which to leap off that didnt give them much of an idea what to expect above and beyond that.

Its much harder to leap when one couldnt see where one was leaping
