Five-Minute fiction - 23:55-00:00
The engine thrummed to life as Giggs keyed the starter. He squeezed the wheel reflexively, waiting. The job had been a last minute affair and he wasnt too happy about it. Too many jobs like this ended up with mess at the end, and he was usually the one who had to clean up. But these guys had seemed different. They gave off a different vibe, serious, professional. Giggs liked guys like that, they were less likely to shoot him when the job was all done.
But none of that mattered right now. What mattered was the fact that they had been inside the building for more than ten minutes, and the five minutes remaining on the countdown clock were already starting to tick by. They had said fifteen minutes, maximum, anything more than that and something would likely have gone wrong. This was the dilemma, Giggs could wait, or he could leave. Both options had their merit, but neither one felt quite right when compared with the other. There was a strange imbalance that left Giggs frozen, indecisive.
