Five-Minute fiction - 00:00-00:05
Caspen pressed the thumblock and waited for the click. Seconds seemed to pass each as endless as a lifetime until the red light flicked over to green and the door hissed open. He stepped inside and felt along the wall for the light switch. The recent renovations had meant that things were often in strange places. Fingers groping he probed deeper into the hall searching for the elusive panel that would illuminate his own personal kingdom.
Shit! he exclaimed as his knee crashed into a wooden table set against the wall. He heard the tinkle of glass and he waited for the smash but none came.
