The clair cream had coated the majority of the carts interior turning the surfaces as slick as ice. Hit boots and gloves slipped and slid as he tried to stand.
The carter, now somewhat distraught lunged forward toward the cudgel that Grim knew to be under the seat. He reappeared his hand around the thick oak stick, the knuckles of his fingers white as he squeezed. The carter rose, raising the club above his head ready to strike when a low-whistle sounded from nearby. Grim and the carter looked around.
Darker stood on the edge of the roof, one of the large ceramic tiles in his hands. He nodded toward the carter, rocked his body forward, and let the tile fall
