Five-minute fiction - 00:36-00:41
It was two lefts, a right, another right, two lefts again, and then take the flight of stairs, yes? Grim said.
Yes, Darker said, his voice somewhat exasperated.
Okay, now my question is was it a flight of stairs going up, or a flight of stairs going down?
Darker paused in his pacing and crossed to where Grim stood on the landing. Below them the cavernous mouth of a spiral stairway yawned open. Bracket mounted torches lined the walls disappearing into the depth of the bit. So deep in fact that the even the light of the lit torches could do little to assuage it.
Well, I dont know, Darker said leaning forward to peer down into the hole.
Grim stepped forward and withdrew a copper coin from his pocket. He held it out, uttered a silent prayer to whatsoever deity happened to be passing by and dropped it.
The two watched the copper coin plummet, snatched away by the inexorable force that pulled all things toward the ground.
It disappeared from sight.
And didnt make a sound.
Good plan, Darker said. Maybe I should drop you down, that way when the screaming stops Ill know you hit bottom.
Or I could run out of breath, I suppose.

I doubt it took only 5 mins to write! or did you do it in a workshop setting?
