The whole room shook as the heavy stone slab slammed down sealing them in. Grim looked from it to the inch-thick cord he held in his hand. It was dried and weathered, brittle to the touch. With a sudden yelp his whole body lurched forward as something collided with his back full force. Blows rained down on his head, neck, and shoulders as he tried to fight whatever it was that had landed on him.
Ahh! Get it off of me! Ahhh! he cried as he spun trying to dislodge it.
Raucous laughter filled the air and Grim froze, unsure of what to do. The hesitation was only momentary as the rain of blows continued, but he quickly managed to cover his head and the majority of the blows. With some effort he turned to see Darker on his back, laughing. The man rolled back and forth on the stone floor his arms wrapped tightly around his chest in an effort to stop his chest from bursting.
