Well, I'm not dead. I can't even see any damage around town. It's kind of bizarre really - people are calling me about the disaster area I'm supposed to be in and I'm looking out my window going "uh, looks all right to me..."

I can't believe some of the callous bullshit I've heard, about races, nationalities, vacationers, what type of people drowned, who wants who to have died... It makes me wanna go on a berzerker rampage through the streets of middle America and give these assholes a scene from the Cell.

Stupid rodeo guys getting gored is funny. Making fun of the retards who stay during a class 5 hurricane is funny. Hell, making light of war deaths and the highly politicized retards who are involved can be funny.

But there is nothing funny about the flood disaster. mad

This isn't personal stupidity or avoidable result of politics. It's death. Pure, terrifying irrational death. Have some respect for it, and the people who have faced it and are facing it as you read this.

Oh, and everyone get a hold of your local Red Cross. These people need help. NOW!

Hi. Me again. I was going to send this to you personally, but decided a public letter might reach more people with connections to aid agencies. PLEASE forward it to anyone it might benefit.
I have spent many years using my knowledge of herbalism to aid the homeless & poor in the Boston area. I have worked w/ fundraising agencies as a script & campaign consultant for disaster relief in major organisations, including @ least one Presidency. Thus, I must send these suggestions....
Firstly.... Contact the local herbalists, botanists and biologists in the affected areas. MANY plants, trees,(inluding the roots & bark) herbs, mushrooms & weeds have high quantities of vitamins & minerals. They should still be edible even w/ a little salt exposure. Water Distillation- easily accomplished-Cappucino machines with long tubes attached to allow the water to become liquid... Pots w/ firmly affixed lids, & a hose affixed will also serve the same purpose. Alcohol added to the water in fractional doses. It will reduce germs, and has high vitamin mineral and oil content. All the water soluable minerals, oils & vitamins in the grain used to make the alcohol in non wine beverages are included in the fermented beverage, in high doses. Herbalists often boil the herbs & ingredients in herbal medication, served as teas. Wine is good for the heart, & generally has high iron content ( notice how it makes your poop black?, & beer makes your pee brown? that's vitamins & minerals) Yogurt is high in electrolites & protein & contains acidophyllis bacteria (a digestive enzyme which help metabolize food, & would be an excellent additive to the usual gruels fed to starvation victims (served cool as to not kiull the bacteria) Curries EXTREMELY HEALTHY & contain herbs and spices that help prevent food borne illness causes by rotting food. I would also recommend discussing local diuretics & eliminatives (stuff that makes you poop & pee) with the local and or visiting herbalists housewifes and nutritionists.... They will help release the toxins & free radicals caused by stress> They will also remove toxins created by ingestion of improper nutrients caused by desperation & illness. Iodine is essential. It affects the pituitary gland which governs the funtions of all the glands & chakras. Sodium affects or (sooths) the heart. Dehydrationoften affects the heart & blood pressure in negative ways, often creating what may seem to be mental illness, or a breakdown of the mental faculties of an otherwise physically healthy person (so watch the booze). Chocolate can affect this positively, as it is high in niacin & magnesium, essential in a steady heart rhythm.
Ginger & any other locally available appetite stimulants will improve the desire to eat properly, which may be absent in cases of depression. Vitamin C is instrumental (ie rosehips or the local equivilent) in maintaing immunity to illness....
I could go on, but the point is made..
I will trust that the dissemination of this information will inspire ideas w/in people in similar circles....
Oh yeah.... The local churches most likely have individuals w/ this knowledge who could better serve the people by using IT insted of hauling sacks of donated goods.
Sugars, Proteins, grains and Iodized Salt will be the real beneficial goods. All the other nutrients should available
locally in the higher regions, unless the landscape is flat..

I know... a lot to swallow.....but this is somewhat uncommon knowledge which will be of great benefit if distributed properly....

Good luck... write me if you have questions....or just want to say Hi.
