I'm really beginning to think it must be me...why is it that everyone I talk to on the phone (or sometimes even in person) will not let me get a word in edgewise. For example, my cousin (who I love dearly) seems to only call me when she needs to complain about her current man troubles. I try to speak and get cut off immediately in favor of her talking about herself. Or when I talk to my mother. She listens halfheartedly to what I have to say and then says, "Oh not to change the subject but (insert self inflating phrase here)."
It's not that I don't enjoy listening to people talk because I do! I'm a very good listener/advice giver. But for Pete's sake when I want to gush about my day or complain about the dickhead who cut me off today, I EXPECT SOMEONE TO GIVE ME MY 15 MINS!!!

there are two types of people. people who listen to what you are saying and comment on it. and there are those who wait for their turn to speak.
or something like that. i can't stand the second type of person.
