I feel bad that all of you who read my journal have to listen to me constantly rant and rave but here is yet one more thing to annoy me:
One of the local news stations here in Springfield has decided that it is not only newsworthy, but also so important that they need to poll people to find out if any of their viewers (and/or website visitors) have slipped and fallen on the ice from yesterday's storm. Now pardon me for being incredulous at this "poll" but c'mon...we live in fucking New England! What are the chances that in the winter someone is going to slip and fall??? Pretty damn good I'd say! I was just commenting on this in NickFaust's journal and lo and behold I check out the news website and I find the ridiculous aforementioned poll. Is there a logical reason to ask New Englanders questions like this (other questions they have asked include, "What do you think about today's snow fall" and "How do feel about the arrival of winter") other than to allow people who can barely form a sentence to have 30 seconds of fame? And it seems they like to hang out at gas stations and shopping malls where they can be sure to get a "random" sampling of people. Like anyone is really going to say, "Gee, I love to shovel, fall on my ass, get into car accidents on icy roadways, and freeze my balls off while cleaning off my car." I have yet to hear someone give a smart ass answer which I think is well overdue!
Sometimes I miss living in Florida where the news is always late-breaking, it always involves a high-speed car chase, and the anchor people are always worthy of Academy Awards
