Psycology has found that when men recall music they associate it with where they were at the time it impacted them the deepest anytime a guy hears a song he typically says " oh yeah junior year, the winter, i smoked weed for the first time" or whatever events occured at the given time that meant something. This
acute association with objects and relation to their life occurance can be traced back to when man had to provide for his mate and offspring, its why men are so offended at having to stop and ask for directions, its what we used to do and we feel very very upset at loosing something so dear to us. When the species was young men were hunters biologically, that is what we were made for, to track kill and bring back to provide for the less physically adept (but no less usefull, i can smell the books burning in santa cruz allready) in order to do so a man was required to remember, so as to know how to get home. These creatures lives were at stake and hunts typically lasted longer than a day, thats moving, running, traveling for a day, and when you're done when its throat is slit and you have won, all of it was pointless if you didnt remember how to get back with the kill.
