I'm getting soft in my old age.
This past Sunday, Danzig was in town and, man oh man, did I want to go. BUT... Johnette Napolitano is also playing in town this week... so is Suzanne Vega. Money is tight. I passed on Danzig, figuring I'd catch one of those other shows instead if I couldn't do all three...
Now, I'll likely not go to either of the other shows. But 10 years ago, I wouldn't have noticed their names in the local paper under "upcoming shows". I would have seen Danzig and thought, "Fuck yeah! All in!". Maybe it's time I hang up my horns and put on a pair of loafers and a cardigan sweater.
I used to get chills when I'd listen to the words to "Fade to Black" by Metallica... now, the most powerful lyrics I can think of are in "Back on the Chain Gang" by the Pretenders. Or maybe "Joey" by Concrete Blonde... either way, it's a far cry from the things that got me off once upon a time.
Hmmm...
Now that I think about it, I still get all jacked up and ready for a bit of the ol' ultra-violence whenever I hear "Cake and Sodomy"...
Maybe all isn't lost quite yet.

its natural when you order everything online from other countries lol. shipping anything anywhere in december is hell man. plus i'm not so bad, i know people who start in july.

1. i love the pretenders and i LOVE concrete blonde. i know you like joey, but have you heard the entire bloodletting album? it is sooo gooood. one of my favs. and what is great about it is not only the voice but the lyrics and atmosphere can be dark and sexy at the same time. check out "tomorrow wendy"
