In the following story, the names have been changed to protect ME. Forget about the innocent (or guilty)!

Steve went to visit a friend of his, Tom Jones, in a neighboring town. While they were visiting, the discussion somehow arrived at talking about villiage idiots. Tom was excited and said they had to go downtown to see Bobby.
Steve was not really excited about this but agreed to go downtown. Steve and Tom were walking around and sure enough, Tom spied Bobby riding his bike on the sidewalk.
"Hey, Bobby! Come over here a minute and meet my friend Steve" Tom hollered.
Bobby came over and said "Hello, Mr. Jones" and "Hello" to Steve.
"Do you want to play a game, Bobby?" Tom asked.
"Sure, Mr. Jones" Bobby replied.
Tom took out a nickel and a dime and placed them in the palm of his hand. "Which one of these coins would you like to have, Bobby" Tom said with a smile and a wink at Steve.
"Oh, I'll take the big coin" said Bobby as he reached out and took the nickel.
Tom just laughed and slapped his leg while Bobby rode off on his bike.

Now, Steve thought this was a mean trick to pay on Bobby. Later in the day, Steve made an excuse to Tom to get back downtown by himself. Sure enough, Bobby was still riding around on his bike.

"Do you remember me?" Steve asked Bobby.
"Sure I do. You were the man with Mr. Jones that I saw earlier today" Bobby replied as he stopped his bike in front of Steve.
"Now Bobby, don't you know that in the game that Mr. Jones played with you earlier that the small coin is worth twice as much as the big coin?" Steve asked.
"Sure mister, I know that. Everyone knows that much. But as soon as I take the small coin, they stop playing the game!" Bobby said with a smile as he rode off.

I forgot to mention in my journal that if you take your pumpkin , after it's served it's purpose , and smash it in front of somebody else's house it's still acceptable . It gives them one last feeling of purpose . They love it . Maybe you can go drag yours out of the brush pile and give hima proper send off .
