His main food should be a good quality hay. Not shit from a pet shop, unless it's organic hay. As you're in the US, it'll be easier for you to find Oxbow organic hay, which is what I think is the best for buns. (we import it into the UK and it's hard to find)

He should have a concentrated pellet food, not the mixed muesli stuff you can buy. Feed the exact amount indicated for his breed and weight.

Once a day he's allowed veg, but don't give too much or it can cause diarrhoea, unless he's used to eating large amounts. Most vegetables and fruits are ok, but DON'T feed potatoes, tomato greens or any type of beans. Cabbage can cause gas buildup which can kill a bun, so only in small amounts and monitor how he reacts to it. Don't feed sugary fruits and veg too much, like carrots, bananas and raisins. Any questions about a veg to feed, ask me and I'll tell you if it's ok!

Make sure he can run around outside his pen for at least 2 hours a day. Legally, in the UK, a rabbit has to have an enclosure big enough to hop three hops and stand up on its hind legs in. However, I think this is still disgustingly small and my buns get MUCH bigger enclosures. The girls actually have an entire room to themselves. Finn has a HUGE hutch with run basement.

Give him plenty of toys and especially things to chew on. Change the toys every few weeks to keep things new for him. My buns especially like willow toys, which they can chew on, destroy and play with. Finn loves his big ball with bell inside because he likes to make the noise. He also loves picking up heavy things and moving them aside/being rough with them, I think to let out pent up energy.

Make sure he always has access to a clean bowl or bottle of fresh water and change the water at least once a day.

That's the basics that I can think of!

I would have called you today, but my phone's screen is broken and I cant see my phone list to call you. I think I stepped on my phone when I was drunk off apple pie shots. Anyways, I'll talk to you soon.
