thigns have been quite eventful lately
a lot of gaming
and a lot of music
and I have met some pretty "cool chicks"
I saw block party
last friday
the movie
not the band
and it was amazing
it wasn't a comedy really
it was just a concert movie
about hip/hop and its culture
i think a lot of people assumed
that it was just going to be "another funny movie"
and granted
it WAS funny
but that wasn't the point
it was very inspiring to me
and really opened my eyes to hip/hop
up until that time i was really push off
not really "getting it"
but from that movie
I saw some of the unbelievable talent
that is in hip/hop
the feeling and the moods and just EVERYTHING
I was going crazy in my chair
I felt a buzz and a sensation i really can't explain
I got motivated and....wow
I bought Kanye West's newest CD and some Mos Def
and I love it
absolutely love it
to see that they are talking about something that matters
not
hittin yo bitch up
doin drugs
gettin money
gettin laid
but really looking at the world
and trying to express themselves
through an entirely different means
and I love it
thoroughly love it
any hoo
we are going into the studio soon
recording about a 5 song ep
should be pretty crazy
we have to do some songs in a live format
and then some multitracking
I have loads of ideas for studio effects
people say your live show should be the most accurate presentation of your album
FUCK THAT
your album
and you live show
should be different
you should do a lot of differnt thigns in the studio
and live,
should be about doing the song justice...
in a live manner
really cranking the essentials
in the studio you should have a lot of fun
you should add a lot of effects and neat little tidbits
but live,

march 18th

it's a competition
and if we win
we play this cook-off thing
and then on april 8th
we have a show in detroit

I don't think I can go to both proms, if they are the same time. I HAVE to be at my prom before the grand march and I HAVE to leave when prom ends. No exceptions. They make a big deal of this. Perhaps we could eat dinner with your Crestline buddies for prom? I don't know how we're going to swing it.
