marijuana in your brain...takes more time to.........you know the rest tongue

Well then. I am no longer a stranger to the effects of marijuana. I finally gave in to the little voice in the back of my head that had been telling me that it might be interesting to see how it would affect my various disorders(ADD, tourettes, etc.). Well, needless to say, it does a damn fine job compared to this other shit that i am pumping into my body(Concerta, which is basically legalized speed, and risperdal, which affects my nervous system). let me dispel all comments to the effect that i am a "stupid pothead" by emphasizing that i TRIED IT ONCE, and it was purely an experiment to see what effects it had on my body, not an attempt to "get high". that having been said, let me get down to the nitty gritty. we'll start off with the tourette's syndrome, which was the clearest physiological difference. just before i took the hit, i was noticing a period of relatively high activity as far as tics(involuntary lapses in control over the nervous system) are concerned. right after i inhaled, i coughed for a few seconds, as i had never inhaled any form of smoke before and it was a VERY odd feeling. after about 2-3 minutes, i noticed that the tics had completely stopped. i don't mean they slowed down, i mean that they disappeared. this was astounding, as even with the risperdal twice a day, i didn't get results like this. (note: i had not taken my evening dose of risperdal, so the effect was not a combination of the two.) Next, the ADHD. Not only did i feel slightly more in tune with what was going on, i felt a difference in my ability to solve problems. i am not saying that this was a scientific test, as there was no control group, and i certify that this is not me promoting promiscuous drug use. i am not a proponent of drug use, and never will be. i personally do not consider marijuana in the same class as drugs such as heroin, cocaine, etc. but that does not make it any more legal. i think that marijuana, used SPARINGLY, can be a very useful remedy for many various diseases, ailments, and other conditions. this has been scientifically documented, so don't even try to tell me that i am full of shit or that i am a druggie. ok, now that my disclaimer is over, i will continue with my report. the next thing i noticed was that the mild depression that i have had for the past few months due to all sorts of stressors at home as well as work, slipped out of existence. i forgot about all of my troubles while high, and now, almost a day later, even when i think about them, they don't have the same effect. i am going to do some research into why that might be, but i think it is the fact that i realized that things aren't as bad as i thought they were, so even though i am aware of the fact that there are problems, they don't cripple me like they did before. i think the world would benefit greatly from an official study into the effects of very small doses of marijuana, perhaps just enough to stimulate a response from the nervous system, but not enough to create a significant high, on patients with chronic depression. even if it turns out that it makes no difference whatsoever, it would show people that in moderation, anything can be useful in serious applications. i have to run for now, but i will post again when i have a chance.
