So work and everything went pretty well today... Trip to Old Faithful turned into an all day affair.
First we had to drive down to Gardiner to pick up plush toys for Old Faithful Inn. In the process of doing that my co-workers broke the lift on the back of the truck. Before we could take it down we had to of course get it fixed. So we sat at the service center in Gardiner for about an extra 45 minutes...
So we finally get on the road heading to Old Faithful and on the way we saw a heard of Bison just chilling on the road, a coyote, and a beautiful blue heron. It was a decent drive, aside from the construction at Gibbon Falls.
So we arrived down at Old Faithful just in time to catch some food in the EDR, pasta day... Seems to me we have pasta at least once a week in some form or another. >.<
Get back in the car and head up towards Mammoth. Now usually whoever is driving gets to play DJ (at least in my opinion.) however my passenger seemed to think that if he didn't like the song he could change it whether or not I liked it, without asking me. RUDE!
Now, in a company car there are several rules that you have to follow...
#1. NO CELL PHONE USAGE! (Makes perfect sense that I can live with)
#2. OBEY ALL POSTED SPEED LIMITS! (Not a problem)
#3. If the vehicle behind you is moving faster than you and a pull out is available you are supposed to
use it. (Pretty simple)
#4. In a company vehicle you may not pass another vehicle unless they are pulled completely off of
the road in a pull out.
#4 is the only one that I have a problem with... Today, I followed an RV from Madison Junction all the way to Mammoth. Going between 30 and 35 miles per hour. Usually this wouldn't bother me except there were 13 cars behind me. No Joke! We counted the cars. I actually got so fed up of following him that right before Swan Lake Flats I pulled off the road and let all 13 cars go around me so that way maybe they can pressure him into using a pull out. As I let the last car past I put my blinker on and got back on the road. Made it through Swan Lake Flats and was coming around a turn near the Pilar of Hercules and you'll never guess who I ended up right behind? That's right! THAT DAMN RV! With only a 20 minute drive left I just followed him... Through the Hoodoos past the Terraces (thermal features near Mammoth Hot Springs) and just as we are getting to the Mammoth Corrall area, the Damn RV finally decides to use a pull out with about a two minute drive left!!!! OMG! This was sooo irritating!!!! >.< I finish the drive, get into the office and talk to my boss and she sends us home for the day
That was good at least. lol.
And now, off to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with some good friends and a bottle of Jose Cuervo. The only man of mine for the night
