you can't see it, but the lions are surrounded by an electric fence... i'd prolly lay around too, if moving meant getting zapped.

these people had a colorful visitor! moments earlier a 2 year old girl was chasing this poor bird around the picnic tables.

this girl got really weirded out when I asked if I could take a picture of her shirt. if she had a problem with it? she shouldn't have worn that shirt. am I wrong?
the new "Arctic Ring of Life" exhibit is GORGEOUS.

who the heck invented THIS thing? I mean, c'mon. really.
did you know that flamingos are that color because their diet consists primarily of a tiny shrimp-like creature whose body contains a high beta-carotine level? I did not know this until today.
we watched "The Emperors New Groove" the other night, in preparation for this moment.

"NOW take my picture!"
"now sit down, and I'll take YOUR picture!"
