It seems more often than not, in our society, confrontation has become an accepted mode of communication. Instead of "Excuse me, we have these ticket vouchers, could you help me redeem them?" you get "Look bitch, get me my tickets or i'm going to your boss." As you mentioned, these workers aren't being paid squat; courtesy goes a long way towards making their day better.
