My 1st hike was 6 miles with 864 ft in elevation gain. I wasn't quite done so I just drove until I found Independence Mtn. Beautiful hike with great views, but damn it was hard. It was only 2.3 miles but with a gain of 748 ft. It was near vertical all the way with only 2 switch backs. Almost forgot to mention, there was a geochace at the top of Independence. Most notable memory was saying to the guy who opened it, "oh that's a geocache... good luck..." Deck of cards, a foreign booklet... my most favorite an unused tampon in a joint/blunt box. Can't wait to do more!

I love hiking! Great pics tho 🫶
And that's just what I did. 3 mountains in 3 weeks. Gonna do more, weather permitting, over the next weeks. For those who are curious, all of these are in CO near Denver. Green Mtn, Indian Mtn, and Lion's Head Mtn.
