Janie in my communication and the arts class made a good point today. We should read books that are on banned book lists. The best ones are always on there. The book that is banned the most in the United States is The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain.. because of language and the homosexual overtones within the text. Read it if you haven't. The book is written in slang for the most part, and that is why the language is so harsh.
Twain wrote this notice on the title page in defense of critism the book recieved.
"Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot."
