vancouver the escape:
the plan: at midnight escape vancouver. alas, still trapped within the sunless city, i hope for a break in the clouds so that i may see the sky and free myself from this endless grey.
tonight was about grocery shopping for my new 'home'
the thing about rentals is- people leave the crap behind that they wouldnt want to have in their regular home.
so trying to find something like a mixing bowl - to actually make food in - becomes a chore. however, i have a beautiful salad mixer, mixed pieces of china, and a can opener that doesnt work. oh, and enough cookie sheets for the entire british columbia girl guides.
on the positive side, the girlfriend is flying out to visit me this weekend. nice. only 2 days - but enough time to show her the digs, relax and catch up in real-life.
watched strange brew with some of my staff-who-are-also-friends tonight. nicely done rick and dave. sure, ive seen it before, but whats a few years between friends?
thats it for now. until next time - wish me luck on my escape. maybe not this weekend, but the next, or the one after - i will visit home. nothing can stop me.

i want my 2 hours back!
hope noone gets offended.
On my one trip to Vancouver, I did find it rather boring. I stayed at a great hotel, the Sylvia out by Stanley Park. The bar is kinda cool to go hang in. Give it a try, it is a good place to pickup, but then again, you have the gf, so probably not good advice. Requiem wasn't so bad, what's the beef?
