i have been up until 5am the past two nights. yeah - the girl i met online has been a pretty positive experience.
ahem.

i saw big fish last night. it was a great movie, athough i found it a bit slow. still, really fantastic. erm, aside from the spielbergish bookends at the top and bottom that were short but still a little..soft.

in the opening - did anyone notice a skull or skulls reflecting off the multitude of lures in the water? one is really obvious as it passes by camera left. i'm trying to decide whether it was intentional - as in motivated by the director or whether it was something thrown in by an artist and liked, or missed. i *used* to have this habit of hiding skulls in the reflections of eyes of characters i was working on..but i havent done that in a long long time.

it matters too much now and time is so short to be spent friviously.

assumption: it must be intentional.

so why? why does tim burton hide a reflection of a skull in a '$100 lure' in the opening shot? do all of them have it? anyone else notice? i can surmise reasons, but i dont 'see' it.
