if i owned the world the first thing i would do is get rid of bitchy airline people. okay - here's the thing:

i have worked in retail/service industry.
so i KNOW. yes. stupidity. rampant.
i know.

however, i go out of my way to be pleasant to service folks. i wish them a nice day - i thank them - i say 'happy new years' when its new years day - that sort of thing. when something goes wrong - i try to be very patient, and i smile and accept their apology and make a joke and so forth.

so at airport #1 in LA my flight was delayed, but i was told that it would be fine and i would make my connection. they were wrong, and later apologised - i made a joke and smiled and said no worries and they took care of me. great.
i was shuttled to a second airport where i could catch a new flight and get a new connection and all would be good.

or so i thought.

the reality of it, however, was completely different. it didnt matter that folks at airport #1 had called, rescheduled my flight and sent me over to airport #2 with a taxi validation that was short by $20 [which i happily paid with a smile on my face]
