On my one trip to Vancouver, I did find it rather boring. I stayed at a great hotel, the Sylvia out by Stanley Park. The bar is kinda cool to go hang in. Give it a try, it is a good place to pickup, but then again, you have the gf, so probably not good advice. Requiem wasn't so bad, what's the beef?

i went to the dominican about a year ago...very different place, enjoyable though
It sucks, but it will be temporary. I had a movie (the new "Fletch" from Kevin Smith) get pushed - for the 3rd time! - because of actor issues. Last I heard they were gonna make another attempt to get Miramax to sign off on Jason Lee for the lead, since Ben A is out (for now)...
Hopefully I will get back on out to "Alias" in the week or two for a little boom operation or cabling. I have only been on it a little, but I dig those folks. My buddy Ben has been the main boomer since season 1 and he calls me for it whenever he can.
What are you editing? I've got about 6 years of Media Composer experience, so if you need a logger or whatever, I'm available right now!

What do you do in VFX: Compositing? Paint? Roto? My friend's boyfriend is a compositor named Michael Harbour; he's worked everywhere, including POP, Riot, DD, etc... maybe you know him?
