Hey, happy birthday! Yeah, the closer I get to 30, the more freaked out I get. Hopefully I'll turn 30, feel the same and stop sweating it. Talk to you soon.
trixel:
DOH missed your birthday. *hangs head in shame*
The 4th went by ok. Thank you for concern for me.

So, four weeks of DSL service and things are fucked up. SBC seems to drowning in complaints and I haven't been able to get a live person on the phone yet. Depending on which recorded message I hear, their system is bogged down with a virus, or their system is running fine but I probably have a virus on my machine.

I love that rival schools record.
Saw them live once then almost again, but the venue got flooded while we were waiting for them to come on.
Sadly that was the last I heard of them.
Hope they haven't split.
ICO is a pretty short game so it won't eat up too much time.
About 9hrs I think.

nyc? I'm envious. That is my favourite city in the world.
Early May seems to be gaining more and more significance in my life of late. I have one image of my father, sitting at the dining room table looking up as I walk in the room. That's the only one which sticks in my head. Even that is fading now. Sometimes he turns up in my dreams, but often he's just a feeling or a gesture I see in my sister or me. I can't fully remember his face. I remember things he used to say and his smile. Odd.
I'm off for a brief walk with my sister. It's nice that she lives a couple blocks away

arch_stanton:
Every jim jarmusch film eh.
My friend was working for Joe Strummer and they were at some party or other, anyway he got Jarmusch, Buscemi, and Strummer to sign his Mystery Train dvd.
Dead Man is the best in my opinion and one of my favourite film's of all time.
Have you played trocc's ICO yet?
You should.
It's the most beutiful gaming experience ever.

Got some astoundingly good news from the work front on Friday. 2004 seems to be shaping up to be a great year froma buncha different angles. Maybe the last couple years' psychic retrenchment is starting to pay off...

Yeah I love that album. I'm ashamed to say I pawned most of my music for bad things. I'm currently rebuying stuff.
I want to find a good Chinese takeout place.
The neverending quest. I've got a great thai place now. Chinese still eludes me.

Isn't 730A_trixel_fem cool as hell? She's been my new IM buddy for the last week, very rad woman.
Luckily, I look nothing like my dad. I have his sense of humor though. And I can grow a beard in like two days, I think he was one of those too.

I got season 2 of The Office in the mail today from Netflix. Hilarity is undoubtedly about to ensue...

we adpoted him from a foster family that took him in after his family found out they were moving and couldn't keep him. he's 5 years old and totally trained so he's a delight to have around...so mellow and easy. i love puppies but they're too much work for me. you're plan to check with the pound etc...is great!!! if you can rescue a dog, that'd be awesome and i have to say....bull mastiffs are great dogs!
the strep is kicking my a** but i'm on meds so hopefully it'll go away soon *fingers crossed*
circle jerks were good...but i think i enjoyed 'throw rag' just as much, if not more...they are hella funny!
i hope your weekend has been fantastic!

Life feels back on track after that slight detour. I've walked over to the lake about 5 times in the last three days. It's about 15 minutes away through a diverse bunch of locations, including one of those great under-celebrated urban intersections teeming with all manner of people going about their daily business. I love it. "This city is on my side..."

Yeah, any suggestions about places to live in the city would be helpful. We have a 5 year old kid so, can't live in the bad, bad areas. I told M_A_Y I'd be willing to come back, as long as we live walking distance from an el-train. How's your part of town?
C-Clamp, I've loved them from way back. I lived in Champaign for a couple months in "97, and I think Nick was working at Parasol Records back then. I've met him once or twice (my friend and roommate at the time knew him). I saw C-Clamp at the Blind Pig once, awesome show (before Longer Waves came out). It always bummed me out that they could never stay together regularly.
Yeah, I went to high school at Wheeling with all the guys from Cap'n Jazz. My bands played a lot of shows with them and stuff, that whole scene was my version of music class. Gauge (and anything Kevin Frank did) was the shit that lit me up. How familiar with the rest of that whole scene are you?

So, I allowed myself to be guilted into taking this dogsitting job even though every fiber of my being knew it was a bad idea.
So, the dog constantly shits on the floor five minutes after I've tried to walk him.
So, the bed is so unfirm that I feel like I sleep with my shoulders in my ears, and my back's been killing me....

No, thank YOU for joining!

After a busy few days, here I am on Saturday night dogsitting a semi-house trained, spoiled rotten little shih tzu named Louie, who I'm pretty sure has just snuck off to the kitchen to either destroy something or relieve himself (again). I guess that's what I get for making him watch 8 straight episodes of the Dave Chapelle show
