I've been outta town since Wednesday and my brother has dial up still so I haven't updated in a while. So here's what I've been up to:
wed the 28th: Drove with Minh down to Austin. He dropped me off at Bouldin Creek Cafe so I could set up my Photo show. My brother met us there and helped me get the show up. He had to work the next day at 8am so we crashed early.
thurs the 29th: At about 430am, Dave's TOTAL FLAMING ASSHOLE upstairs neighbors decided to be EXTREMELY FUCKING LOUD. We both put up with it for a bit thinking it would stop. NOPE. So Dave ran upstairs, pounded on their door and got into an argument with some guy that I guess lives there. I was just waiting to run up there and help him out if he got in a fight (as much as I could anyways), but Dave came back down and nothing happened. He said the only thing the asshole could say to dave's screaming was that Dave has a drumset. The fact that he never plays late at night didn't register into the moron's brain apparently. Anyways got back to sleep and when I woke up I walked down to Pronto mart where my brutha works and borrowed his truck. Met Minh at Boldin Creek and got some breakfast and coffee. It rocked as always. Drove back to Pronto to give Davey his truck back and then Minh and I went record shoppin. I got a QOTSA compilation cd, Chromeo "she's in control", and Kyuss "Blues for the Red Sun". Went back to Dave's house and then Minh drove back to San Marcos where his fiance lives. Met them down in SM that night for dinner at the Taproom. I ended up crashing in SM on the couch.
fri the 30th: Minh and I had lunch with Cookie at this cool place in SM and then we went to Buda to take some pics. She saw this cool tree there and wanted me to photograph them by it. Shot them in several locations around it and then headed to Austin. Got some coffee at Bouldin Creek again and then headed to Trudy's for some dinner. We were meeting most of the people from the DR office Cookie works at. Had some killer Migas and Fajitas after waiting forever to get a table and then headed back to Dave's.
Sat the 31st: Got up early and played disc golf with 7 of dave's friends. We played doubles and I ended up being partnered with the best guy playing, We being the worst guy playing, we made quite a team. We did end up KICKING EVERYONE'S ASSES BY 4 THROWS. So there. OK after playing for 4 hours Dave and I were quite hungry. Went to Bouldin Creek yet again, got coffee and a huge bowl of baked oatmeal. It is quite possibly the best on the planet. Dried cranberries, bananas, walnuts, baked apple chunks......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm tasty. OK so we went back to Dave's and chilled for a bit and then went to the Crown and Anchor Pub for some dinner and to play some darts. Left there and then chilled more at Dave's before heading out to the HOLE IN THE WALL bar for NYE festivities. It was ok, just ok. I was driving since I don't drink and we gave Mike and Maryanne (two friends of dave's that we met out at the bar) a ride home. They have a supercool house and we hung out and ate some eggs sandwiches on real NY bagels that Mike brought back when he went home for xmas. Left Mike's at about 3am and headed home to Dave's.
Sun the 1st: Got up and I was craving Chicken Fried Steak. Damn. So Dave and I ventured out to Trudy's near his house and ate down in the bar. It was rather good. Not the best I've ever had but still rather good. Went back to Dave's and yet again chilled. Later on that day we played 3 games of $5 buy in Texas Hold Em. I lost all three and never really had any good hands. Oh well. Went to bed.
today the 2nd: Left Austin.Got home. Wrote this. Listened to some music. That's it. Tonight I will be sleeping in my bed and not on a couch. Yeah!
