read catch-22 over and over again. read some kobo abe.. it's really good japanese surrealist lit. read ada or the annotated lolita by nabokov.. you're sure to learn some new words in a couple of different languages. read vonnegut, any and all. lastly, read the little prince, but not anywhere that people will think you strange for crying at a children's book.
