Warning!!!School and more school on the brain post:.
Since Monday I've spent at least 9 hours/day there. But, I have completed my first editing assignment Only taking me 3 hours just to add15 sec. of black, 30 sec of bars and tone, and another 15 black, then the program, and then black at the end. All Dave(instructor) is looking for is a clean project, no breaks in the control track, no black holes in the edits, he's not grading on the actual edit itself(which I might add is just dorky as hell-a Saturn commercial with a guy who sells chickens) Now, for the second project(which I will be able to burn some images onto disc and transfer them to my little free Avid on my computer! I'm just hoping that I'll at least get a couple on here to play with!
) we have to do some audio edits, and special effects. I only have two weeks for this one. This Avid system is, oh, how do I say, difficult, and tempermental, but my anxiety about it gets less and less, so...I just can't wait until we get into the "art" of editing. I mean after all, the editing can make or break a piece. It's how you put the images together, that tells the story, or conveys the emotion. You could have great shots, beautiful shots, but how you put them together- there's your story.
Okay, English sucks right now. I bombed my first in-class essay. The only saving grace on this one is the 20pts I'll get for a re-write. It was a good experience, but fuck the in-class essay!!!! And working on Essay #2 thesis, which I have more than one idea, but still don't know where I'm going with it. This goes on the tomorrow morning list of things to do. I'm fried right now, it's late, and I still have to look some stuff up for school.
Algebra-fuck absolute value and inequalities etc...I'm just going along, making my best efforts. I'm a bit worried about this next test, more so than previous ones. There is lots more stuff to cover, things to remember, switch the signs when you divide/multiply by a negative, complementary and vertical angles etc... blah blah blah.and everyones fave, the word problems.
I love Calvin and Hobbes. They always make me smile, esp. the image on the left.
Wallace and Grommit have a new movie out, or coming out. I have forgotten all about them.
