I think my first real experience of music(and speed) must have been the first time I heard A-ha's ( norwegian synth-popsters from the '80s ) Take on Me. I were 5 years old and sitting in the backseat of my yuppi uncle's black BMW while he was driving at a breakneck pace down the highway with Take on Me pumping out of the loudspeakers. To my 5 year old self it felt as if the drum beats were interfering with my own heart beats, making them beat in synch. I honestly thought they were beating in synch.
My uncle is a soft porn photografer. The funniest job I've ever had was to paint background scenarios for him. That was a malapropos.
Another strange experience, probably happening about the same time, that is around 1985. I can remember how I used cover my ears with my hands to listen to that mysterious pulsating sound that appeared when all other sounds where shut out. You know; my own blood. Just that on that time, I thought it was the moon I could hear.
