What made you feel good this week?

If you want to find Blog Homework to help you come up with things to write about, you can find it here.

(photo of me in my kitchen, pre-concert, trying to take focus off of my turquoise waffle iron and fancy bread box)

Overall, I had a rough week. Lots of things that beat me up, mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, relationship-ally(?). It was dragging me down and making me depressed. So I made an active plan to not only focus on the good things that happened, but to focus on me and some self-love this weekend, as well as focusing on giving gifts to those I love: bought someone I adore an item they wanted, got treats for my cats, offered to find collectibles for a friend of mine, helped someone with some self-promotional things, etc. I felt like sharing some of the positivity.

Saturday morning started a bit rough, in that I had to go in to work. If you know my current work situation, you'll know that it is really difficult to cope with right now. Thankfully, it was only a half day and I got through it with only a handful of difficult customers in a large amount of good ones.

After work, I went across the street to the bar. I don't drink and never have, but I was in the mood for a bar-style burger. Cheese, mushrooms, bacon, some veggies, fries. I forgot to take a picture of it, so here is one of some Nachos I had last week. Lol.

Then I decided, on a whim, to go to some thrift stores. I went to the one near my work and found 1 "previously loved" DVD to add to my collection. (I collect movies and shows. I'll talk about it more some day) After that, I drove over to 7-11 and got a small Slurpee, then drove home.

Except, as I approached my house, I make the decision to try the thrift store that is only a 1/2 block from where I live. I had never been there before.

I parked and went in to quickly check it out. Well, the intent was to be quick. When I saw the thousand or so movies they had, I was aghast! Took my coat off, kneeled down and got to work looking through the titles, my "to-get" list open on my phone in front of me. The owners came around and found me, brought me a stool and talked with me while I shopped. Turns out the husband had over 2000 more DVDs at his house that he hadn't brought down yet. I might or might not have arranged to have him bring some of them in every 2 weeks so I could shop through them... :)

I ended up buying 20 used DVDs for $20. Well, I paid them $25 to be nice, but I managed to knock some titles off my "to-get" list (like "The Grudge," "The King's Speech," and "Moneyball") and fill in some of the gaps that my divorce left. I also checked out their other items, including a some records and a fairly decent book section.

Went out to my van and the Slurpee had melted. Oh well, small price to pay. Went home, worked on some projects and then got ready to see a live show (see first photo). I went to the bar again, this time to see a Bon Jovi cover band named "The Runaways." (careful, the video is loud). Yes, that couple is two-stepping to Bon Jovi.

Bonus, is that the lead singer is also one of my Purolator drivers. Haha.

Sunday was sleeping in and spending time playing with my naked roommates.

I had planned to go out for dinner, but then I realized that it was Mother's Day and the restaurants would soon be packed. I got ready and raced down to Boston Pizza, which was thankfully quiet in the bar side until just before I left.

Finally, back home to do some house work and then cap off the weekend re-watching "Gran Torino."

All-in-all, I'm going to treat the good moments this weekend as the bookmark for the week. I'm writing this at 2:30am, and I am happy and content. I hope something in this blog brought a smile to your face.

Thank you my friends and future friends.
