Film Festival
Last week was probably one of the busiest and most fun weeks I had this year. I spent most nights at the LA Latino film festival, which had better films this year but was scaled-down, probably because of a lack of sponsors and media coverage. I got to see around 10 films, all worth seeing, except for some lousy indie film called Between. I also met a well-knowned Mexican actress who kinda flirted with me. I ended up not going to the red carpet gala today as the girl I wanted to bring couldnt make it; in addition I was to hung over this morning to be in the mood to drive to Hollywood.
Lakers game
On Monday night, my ex-girlfriend gave me a couple of free tickets for the Lakers game. I was so excited since that was my first time at a game + it was nearby at the Arrowhead pond. So we went on Tuesday night and Im glad to have been able to see Kobe doing his thing live.
Bauhaus
A good way to start Halloween weekend, I went to see Bauhaus at the Wiltern on Friday night. The show was great; Daniel Ash is still so cool but Murphy looks weird, older and blond he hasnt lost his voice though. They even played Love & Rockets Slice of life. I must admit I got the chills when I heard the first bass notes of Bela Lugosis dead. Napsters new service officially recorded the concert and then released a limited number of CDs at the end of the show. So I got my CD of the show and it sounds good its not one of these bad bootlegs.
Halloween Party
Saturday night, I went to a party in Dana Point. I got so drunk that, while I was chatting up some girl, I fell against the wall and made a fool of myself. It was a lot of fun though.
Moving
Im thinking about moving: Hollywood, Long Beach, Silver Lake??
Next week
AFI FEST starts on Thursday, so its gonna be another 10 days of films and parties. Plus its next door to Amoeba, so you know where Im gonna spend my time between screeningsits time to prepare another stack of promo CDs/DVDs to sell and get credits for Amoeba
