i *finally* bought a media center. i've been looking for one for maybe two years, and i just could never find one that was quite right, but i think this one's going to do it.

solid, dark wood
open part for speaker
closed part for everything else
holes for cords that are not huge and obvious
open or slidey back for air circulation
non-adjustable shelf
longer then 70'', less then 25'' tall

six out of seven isn't so bad. it doesn't seem like it would be so hard to find, but it really was. it was really expensive, but i think it's time for me to give up on this masochistic relationship i have with ikea where i buy a cheap thing and then spend the next two years hating it until it breaks. it looks a lot like this, except mine is walnut (darker and more swirly) rather then oak.



now, my real question is, how you get something like this up the stairs? i only live on the second floor, but still, i think it's gonna be heavy, and i can't use a wheelie thing. help me internet friends!
