well, the plan was to watch a movie in with torquil and go on a long walk afterwards. And maybe some picture taking. but i cancelled.
when i was on the phone with m. alexandra earlier, i had eaten 11 cupcakes and had quite a bad tummy ache.
after drinking the peppermint tea she suggested, i felt a bit better and ate 3 more cupcakes.
this was a very bad idea apparently.
my valentine day plans with torq have been cancelled due to my inability to move... even to reheat the hot water bag against my tummy.
Also, these last few mornings, i've been waking up at 6 a.m. in order to be at work by 8. It's been fun. Sometimes i wake up intentionally late just so i can have some breif excerise as i run to make the bus.
saturday
saturday morning cartoons, followed by a late breakfast and quick IAM update. worked from 12-8 and then went to the big bmezine get-together dinner. [which was awesome. pictures were taken and fun was had by all]
sunday
got home after midnight and was asleep by 4 a.m. Got up for work at 6 a.m. Worked from 8-5. Went to Next! in order to chat with Jacob and drop off picture. Came home after dinner. Made cupcakes with sister. Fell asleep a wee bit after midnight
monday
had to work again. only 4 hour shift today. 8 a.m.-noon. went to the library. my feet are in pain. checked out the kiss-a-thon sponsored by The Beat. Came home and ate 11 cupcakes....you know what happened. Ah well, the walk with torq would have probably blistered and bruised by feet beyond recognition.
i picked my pic earlier, or else i would post some bmezine dinner pics. oh well. also, many things like the sg dinner tomorrow, photoshoot/tattoo on wednesday, new work, and new boys are scheduled. but i'm exhausted and will leave this entry short and sweet

saw the word "writer" in your profile.
explain the process to getting published.
because i have my first draft and it's just sitting here
Well that would depend on quite a number of different things.
How developed is your draft? Are you close to having it be, in your view, good enough?
What kind of work is it?
First step is to start working on polishing or otherwise developing your piece. Second is to start working on good summaries and introductory letters for sending to publishers. Then you should buy the Canadian Writers Market book. It lists many many publishers.
Writing is a great activity, fun and rewarding. Trying to get published is not. It is living hell. Dont even try if you cant take rejection and uncertainty or if you have no patience. The basic process is to send inquiry letters out to every publisher you can get an address for and that even slightly fits the style of your work. Then they either dont respond
If you dont feel your draft is ready for publishing as is I would suggest you find some people to give you feedback, like a writers group. You could even post segments to one of the two writers groups on SG. I might be interested in starting a new writers group in Vancouver so that might be a possibility.
Respond some and I will see what I can do to answer more of your questions or help you.
quite usual for a sugar fiend such as myself
