On the 6th a friend of mine passed away. He had been sick for a year and a half and it wasn't unexpected but it was still a bit of a blow. I drove out to his funeral on Thursday. It's the first funeral I've been to in years and the first I've had to attend for a friend. It was a good service and it was nice to see so many people come out to say goodbye. Still, between the funeral and 7 hours of driving secondary highways in blowing snow it was a brutal day.

That is an angry octopus teacup that Jody bought me for Christmas.



And that is the first of a pair of Oilers socks she is knitting for me. She is pretty awesome.
