So thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.

Saturday

Being a lazy, video game playing lump was a total success. Well, almost a total success. It turns out I'm really shitty at picking up breakfast. Jody was running late for work and wasn't able to pick up proper food. So she asked me to bring her food at work. No problem right? I went to go get her a bagel. Should be a very simple operation. The bagel place I like was closed even though the sign on the door said they were supposed to be open. Okay. Fine. On to plan B. There's a really good bakery that has great croissants. They were sold out when I showed up. Damn it all. The girl at the counter assured me that they would have some more in about half an hour. So I drove around looking for alternatives and went back half an hour later. Turns out it was a lie. A horrible, pastry-less lie. I ran by Starbucks to get Jody coffee and then shuffled off to Safeway for mediocre croissants. Two hours after food was requested it was finally delivered. And I deliver things for a living. No wonder I'm broke.

After that fiasco I went home to play more Bowser's Inside Story. Oh man what a fantastic game. Seeing Mario and Luigi running around inside Bowser's guts is more entertaining than I expected. I seriously recommend you check it out.

Speaking of recommendations, you should all check out The Men Who Stare at Goats by Jon Ronson. It's about high ranking US military people who believed that soldiers could be trained to explode goat hearts with only the power of their minds. That and a ton of other completely wacky nonsense. It's really unbelievable.

Back to Saturday. After Jody was done work I picked her up and took her and her dog Indy for a walk. The walk would have been much better without the eardrum shattering wind. Indy certainly had a good time though. After the walk we ordered some Indian takeout, split a bottle of wine, watched some TV and went to bed. All in all a damn sweet birthday.

Sunday

Jody had to work again on Sunday. She also sent me a message about a TV show about people who hoard things. The one she sent me involved a woman who refused to empty her fridge. Apparently she stuffed the freezer so full that it had to be taped shut and the stuff in the middle wasn't able to freeze. This prompted me to clean out our fridge. While it wasn't a giant pile of rot it was a little overdue for the cleaning. But now there's a lot more room for beer. So that's a plus.

After Jody was done work my parents took us for dinner at Laurier Lounge. Jody and I split the seafood fondue experience. Holy crap was that a lot of food. Very, very good food. Jody believe my fondue skills are weak. This may or may not be true but I'll be damned if I admit to it. The point is, the meal was delicious and I'm glad we went. After that, home, Firefly and bed.

Today

Nothing exciting today. Slept in. Went to work. My car is starting to crap out so I have to take it in for service right away. Kind of starting to lose power. Makes getting up hills a bit of a challenge and having a car that works is kind of important for delivering pizzas. Now I think I'm going to go watch some more Firefly and go to bed. Mine is an exciting life.
