So, for a lot of you it's Election Day. Please go out and vote. It's important. Not just for you but for the whole world. I don't like how much your government affects mine. I would like to see you pick someone who will be more beneficial for Canada.
Watching the election shit show for the last six months has raised countless questions and comparisons to our Canadian elections. Well, at least for me. No one in America (besides AceT) seems to follow Canadian politics that closely. We managed to have a campaign and an election in a few short weeks. It takes you guys for-fucking-ever to get this done. And when you finally get around to it you can't do it in an organized fashion. Why do you STILL not have standardized voting procedures? And you wonder why your results get so fucked up... And the negativity! Don't get me wrong, our election was full of it but you guys are fucking PRO. I mean, we have an active separatist party in Canada and no one goes after them with the venom you people sling. "He's a terrorist". "He's a Muslim". "She's afraid of witches". The insane focus on complete non-issues is painful. I think the worst attack I saw our campaign was "Stephen Harper is just like George Bush". Which is stupid, but not ridiculously offensive.
I'm going to be so happy when this is over. American politics are kind of ridiculous.

Just remember that your country is made up of a mostly homogenous population smaller than California. In that respect Canada is a lot more like Europe than it is like the US, and none of you have to deal with the issues we do at the scale that we do.
But of course I agree with you, it's absolutely fucking ridiculous that it takes 22 months to elect a leader in this country. I'm glad the season finale of the Election Shit Show is over and done, and I don't look forward to the new season in two years. Let's just enjoy the hiatus while we have it.
