I Lost Blood (Blood left my body) Wednesday night.
In the middle of dinner a steady stream of crimson flowed from my nose.
I calmly rose from my half eaten meal and walked to the bathroom,head up cupping the increasing puddle in one hand,the other outstretched, guiding me toward the sink.
As I stood in front of the sink, about to lean forward, feeling that when I did there may be no stopping that flow, I could feel the constant drip in the back of my throat.
Thoughts came to mind.
"Why is this happening to me?"
"Are these the last moments I have left on Earth?"
And funny thing was...I was not afraid.
I washed up and the blood stopped after about ten minutes. When I went back to the livingroom I didn't feel like eating anymore, and I sat back, head up, and watched TV with a few napkins by my side just in case.
And I thought, "how fleeting these moments are."
And, "my life is good."
