I like to read the other journals here at Suicide Girls. Sometimes I'll read through all the recent journals and I have to say, it's quite the mix. Most journals are just bland comments on the day, how drunk did they get, how the job is and how the boss pissed them off. Some people are so brilliant that you read they're bio just to find out they're only 20 years old. Then there are the "just plain stupid" journals. People who somehow feel entitled to make other peoples lives difficult. They think that peeing on the floor of a building makes them cool. They don't think about, or give a damn about the poor person, most likely getting paid minimum wage, that has to clean up after them. Or they think that beating up a drunk is funny, because he won't remember who did it and isn't it cool to get away with it. Doesn't matter what his kids or boss has to say in the morning, doesn't matter if they really damaged him. And then, just to really get pissed off, I read the comments to those blogs. I read about how cool their friends think they are.

Often I have the urge to write a comment. But I resist. They won't care. If they did they wouldn't do this in the first place. I'd just be ranting like an idiot. I prefer to do that here. wink I just comment when I have something good to say. I really appreciate the smart ones. Once I came across a really sad, depressing journal. I almost left a comment then, but again, I resisted. I read the other comments, he had tons of sympathy. I want to give unsolicited advice. "Sorry you've had such a hard time, now what are you going to do to change your situation? When are you going to quit focusing on you? You could be a starving child in Africa, you could be a woman in Iraq. But no, poor baby, you're a white guy living in America at the top 2% of the worlds wealth." I really did feel for him, I just don't think all that sympathy was doing him any good.

Smart journal, or stupid journal, I continue to write, but I promise not to pee on any floors.
rapier:
You should resist sending comments. smile

Everyone likes to know that they are being read, even if they write something a little wierd. smile

Plus after a while you get to converse with some interesting people who are a little wierd and that can make your day. biggrin

Or you can get new ideas on how to spend a snowy or rainy Minnesota day. wink

Have a great day and weekend. wink
